2025 Keynote Address: The Power of Hope Reignited
The keynote will highlight how hope empowers School Social Workers to support students through challenges. The session will explore how fostering hope can improve student resilience, mental health, and academic success; providing Social Workers with practical strategies and perspectives to inspire positive change and create lasting impact in their schools.
Keynote Speaker: Justin Campbell
As an author, public speaker and founder of The Urban Connection Project, Justin Campbell has spoken at events and conferences across the United States. Justin, a former inner-city school teacher in both Detroit, MI and Phoenix, AZ has successfully mentored staff from schools, districts, and college of education programs to become more culturally responsive educators who raise the odds of success for the students that they service. Justin’s style permits participants to learn from and connect with each other, while also gaining incredible insight from what is being presented. He has been featured twice on USA Today, PBS, in the Arizona Business Journal and in many more publications. Justin provides an experience, not just a speaking engagement!
Call for Workshop Proposals
The 2025 Conference Committee welcomes proposals for workshops for the 2025 Annual Conference that address the skills and competencies needed by School Social Workers in the context of the current educational environment and larger society.
SSWAAZ seeks to offer workshops that will collectively reflect the diversity of backgrounds, cultures, practice areas, school populations and experiences and offer meaningful learning opportunities for both new and seasoned professionals. We are especially seeking workshops that address practice topics from an in-depth, advanced practice perspective.

Proposals are due by November 1, 2024 at 5:00pm.
The SSWAAZ Selection Committee will notify presenters by November 10, 2024.
